He specializes in business security and privacy solutions for wireless and mobile road warriors, extranet, remote offices and teleworkers. Mr. Girard was European research director for New Science Associates (acquired by Gartner), and a founder of the advanced network computing research practice. Previously, he was a software engineer at Pacific Bell, where he formed an Expert Systems R&D group and a software testing practice. His publications include "Building Knowledge Systems" (McGraw-Hill, 1989). About Joe Owen Joe Owen is responsible for product strategy and R&D for Sybase iAnywhere's mobile management and security products. Previously, Mr. Owen was CTO of XcelleNet, which was acquired by Sybase iAnywhere in 2004. Mr. Owen held several positions at XcelleNet, including Vice President, Product Management and Vice President, Business Development. He also held engineering positions at Software Link and DCA. Mr. Owen speaks frequently at leading industry events and is often quoted as a source of insight on mobility trends. Mr. Owen earned a B.S. degree in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology's School of Information and Computer Science. |
