The Archiving Imperative

Sponsor: IBM, Featured Analyst Firm: Gartner
Speakers: Carolyn DiCenzo, Laura Sanders, Cindy Grossman, Jon Prial
Type: Video (38 minutes)

Many organizations today find themselves literally drowning in a sea of information.  Increased regulatory control and the risk of litigation both compound the problem - how do you retain the information that might be needed to manage risk while at the same time keep storage and management costs under control? The answer is archiving.

Hear industry experts from featured analyst firm Gartner, Inc., and opinion leaders at IBM, discuss how to make information a strategic asset, and offer insight into the benefits and challenges of information lifecycle management, including key components like archiving and content management.

TOPICS ADDRESSED:

1. How to close the gap between information growth and the capacity to manage it with Information Lifecycle Management (ILM)

2. How enterprise content management, archiving and retention solutions play essential roles in a comprehensive ILM strategy

3. How leading organizations are managing and leveraging information more effectively to create greater business value

4. How to overcome the barriers that prevent your company from getting to an Information On Demand environment

Regulations, industry standards, and good corporate governance all demand that companies be accountable for producing business records, and that they know where documents are located and how they can be retrieved.

> Corporate fines are being imposed for the improper management of paper and electronic records

> The Sarbanes-Oxley Act is being strictly enforced

> Enron-like scandals are drawing public attention to records management and compliance

> And the Federal Rules of Civil Procedures, updated as of December 2006, further increase the organization’s accountability for knowing where documents are kept and being able to retrieve them.

Watch this program now to hear more about these issues and guidance on how to address them. Go now.
